The Autumn Sale
Off the back of our best ever sale at Salon Prive, where the hammer fell on £10m worth of very special cars, we now head back to Silverstone for the Autumn Sale on Saturday 20th September at 2pm.
Salon Prive specialised in cars of over £75k in value and in this rarified price sector of the market it was impressive to achieve a final sales rate of 66%. Sold cars included a Ferrari 250 Lusso for £1.89m and a Ferrari Daytona Spyder for £2.27m and we are very pleased with all the results for our vendors which can be found at www.silverstoneauctions.com
The Autumn Sale this coming Saturday 20th September sees an eclectic mix of cars that didn't qualify in price for the Salon Prive catalogue but are still fine examples and offer exceptional value. It is a one day Sale with viewing in the morning and the Sale at 2 pm in the afternoon. All Lots can be viewed online at the Silverstone Auctions website and I personally look forward to seeing you at the event.
At the same time we have now opened entries for the final Sale of 2014 to be held at the NEC Classic Car Show on Saturday/Sunday November 15/16th. Please call the office to discuss your classic car as a possible entry.

Salon Prive - our first London Sale
Well time flies by quickly and so have our May Auction and indeed the Silverstone Classic Sale of 2014. Suffice to say both were record breakers with sales rates of 80 and 85% respectively and an incredible total hammer price of over £5million at the Silverstone Classic.
Excitement is building as we now head towards Syon House and our first sale at the Salon Prive concours event held from the 3rd to the 5th of September in Syon Park, London Rd. TW8 8JF
This is an extremely upmarket event held annually for the last decade in incredible surroundings and featuring some of the world's very finest cars. We are very privileged to have been asked to hold their inaugural auction which is a joint venture with the event organisers.
Our catalogue is now published and available to buy from 'www.silverstoneauctions.com' and features over 50 cars spanning £15-18million in overall value. Some of the world's rarest and most valuable cars are on offer and we are enormously proud of the selection and choice.
The sale will be held on 'Ladies Day' which is Thursday September 4th at 6pm in the evening.
We hope to see you there.

Amazing Inaugural Restoration Show Sale
With sincere apologies for the lateness of this update (!) I am delighted to report that our first auction held at the NEC Practical Classics Restoration Show on 12th April 2014 was an outstanding success.
We achieved our highest percentage sales rate to date at 85% of all the cars selling for a final hammer price of just over £1m!
The all new concept of an auction for Barnfinds as well as restored classics was a resounding success and our vendors and buyers alike were all truly delighted with the results. Several cars doubled their pre-sale estimate including both Aston Martin V8's (£51,175 and £49,450) and a Jaguar XK 150 Drophead Coupe selling for £62,100.
The Hooper bodied Lagonda made a significant six figure price pre-sale and the Facel Vega HK500, which was in need of a total restoration, sold for £64,400.
Celebrity cars also faired well with the original 'Arthur Daley' Jaguar XJ6 used in the programme selling for £15,525 and the milk float from Eastenders achieving a bargain £2,300!
Over 75 classics found new homes through Silverstone Auctions.
So the market for Classics remains very strong which is encouraging for our next sale at Silverstone Circuit which is to be held on Saturday 24th May in the Wing above the Formula One pits.
Entries close on Wednesday 7th May and we would be delighted to talk to you about your classic car or motorcycle.

NEC Classic Car Show Sale breaks all records!
Wow! What a fantastic weekend Silverstone Auctions has just enjoyed at the NEC Classic Car Show. Holding two sales over two separate days for the first time proved to be an excellent format for both buyers and sellers, creating a more relaxed atmosphere and shorter more punchy sales.
The results were incredible with an exceptional sales rate of over 80% achieved and a premium inclusive sales total of over £2.8 million pounds! An impressive 85 vehicles were sold in total over the two days.
Highlights included the sale of an Aston Martin DB5 for £358,000, nearly £80,000 over lower estimate and an Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk III selling for £220,800.
British classics were popular throughout with a Lister Jaguar XJS 7.0 litre Le Mans Coupe eventually selling for £56,875, more than twice it's pre-sale estimate. A 1950 Jaguar XK120 Roadster fetched £85,881, nearly £19,000 over over it's lower estimate.
The sale of an amazing 1985 Ford RS200 for £104,650 and a 1986 Sierra RS Cosworth, formerly belonging to Cosworth's co-founder Mike Costin, indicate that iconic Fords from the 1980's could well be among the next crop of classics to significantly rise in value.
Cars from further afield also proved extremely popular with two Ferraris, a 1982 512 BBi and a 1988 328 GTS, achieving £109,200 and £40,609 respectively.
The amazing and unique 1970 IKA Tornio 380S owned by the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio lived up to it's pre-sale excitement fetching a strong £27,900.
The fine wines, exquisite leather goods, rare watches and jewellery that we now offer as a "Lifestyle" sale, all sold well to an enthusiastic audience for £173,000. Contributing to this was a very rare ex-Ayrton Senna race suit, which sold for £15,730.
Finally, we even managed to raise £1,500 for the BBC Children in Need Appeal when we ran out of catalogues and charged a £5 admission fee!
A fantastic sale all round for vendors and buyers whom I thank sincerely for their support.
Entries are now open and welcome for our next sale - the Race-Retro Sale at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire on 22nd February 2014.
