Stunning £1.8 million pound Sale at Race Retro

The ex Dr. Stephen Ward Jaguar XK 150 Drophead Coupe set the tone for our sale at Race Retro reaching an amazing £124,200 which was over twice it's pre-sale estimate.

In all 70% of our eclectic classic cars sold along with a remarkable 13 competition cars making the end result an all time record for classic cars ever sold at this event. (take note our predecessors Bonhams and H and H!)

The 1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante X pack achieved £167,900, more than £32,000 above estimate along with a stunning Proteus aluminium bodied C-Type replica achieving a credible £71,300. The 1957 Porsche 356 'A' was value at £60,950 as was the Jaguar E-Type series3 V12 Roadster at £49,000.

13 race cars reflected a total value of over £400,000 and included several fast Ford's - notably an ex Works Prodrive Mondeo at £103,500 as well as a Lotus Cortina at £53,000 and a rally spec Sierra Cosworth for £23,000.

Lifestyle items continue to gain in popularity with total sales of £171,000 across the two days, including an ex James Hunt helmet and 2 X Formula One Opus limited edition books.

I would personally like to thank all vendors and purchasers for their highly valued business and support.
