Silverstone Classic Sale - stunning result!

Saturday the 27th of July 2013 set a new record for Silverstone Auctions at the Silverstone Classic Sale when over £2m worth of cars were sold at one event, with over two thirds of the classic cars finding new homes as well as 8 competition cars.

I was delighted with this result for vendors and purchasers alike and proud that the team broke the £2m barrier for the first time. Notable results were achieved from the Aston Martin DB 5 selling for £373,750 and the ex-Des O'Connor DB 6 selling for £147,200.

The unique 500 mile Jaguar XK 150 'S' Roadster broke a UK record when it achieved £201,250 and had a fascinating story to tell of it's exploits on the Bonneville Salt Flats in the late 1950's....

Even the original ex Enid Blyton Noddy Car, or Fiat Gamine, made an impressive £29,325 as well as the ex-Bernie Ecclestone Ferrari 456 reaching a strong  £34,500.

But perhaps the most encouraging prices achieved were for an absolutely original Lotus Cortina, with just 2 owners from new, achieving double it's pre-sale estimate and selling for £38,525 and the very last UK market Honda NSX Targa achieving a strong £80,500 - which may seem cheap in years to come...

Overall a great sale was enjoyed by all and our new Lifestyle products were popular with customers and particularly the ladies. Providing a pleasant distraction from the cars, we sold nearly all the watches, jewellery and leather goods for a record sale of over £100,000.

This format will be repeated at the NEC Classic Car Show sale in November and we look forward to seeing you there.
